Recipe for Banana Cake:
Ingredients
6 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 medium bananas
2 cups self-raising flour
pinch salt
1/2 teaspoon bicarb soda
2 tablespoons milk

Cream butter and sugar.
Add beaten eggs. Beat well.
Peel and mash bananas. Add to creamed mixture and mix well
Sift flour, salt and soda together.
Fold in dry ingredients alternately with milk to form a soft dough.
Spoon mixture evenly into two greased and lined 18 cm sandwich tins.
Bake in a moderate oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool on a rack.
When cold, fill with whipped cream and sprinkle top with icing sugar.

Recipe for Spaghetti with a spicy kangaroo and mushroom sauce:

Ingredients:

600 g kangaroo mince
500 mL beef stock
handful of mushrooms of your choosing, sliced
100 g tomato paste
1/3 cup brandy
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 celery sticks, diced
2 chillies, diced
1 carrot, diced
1 large onion, diced
1 1/2 tbs hot curry powder
freshly ground black pepper
sea salt

In a large sauceheat, heat some oil over a low flame. Add the onion, garlic, chillies, celery and carrot. Stir and fry for five minutes, then add a tablespoon of curry powder. Stir and fry for another five minutes, then add the mince. Stir well. Brown the mince over the course of 2-3 minutes, then add the brandy, stirring as you do. Let it reduce, then spoon in the tomato paste. Stir it in, add the stock and cover the pan. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove the lid. Stir in the remaining curry powder. Simmer for a further 25 minutes, then add the mushrooms. Simmer for five more minutes, then cover the pan and take it off the heat. Let it sit this way while you bring some lightly salted water to the boil and cook some spaghetti. Don't cook the spaghetti according to packet instructions--use your senses by tasting the pasta when you think it's about done. It should be soft, but have just a little bite to it. Al dente. Toss the pasta and sauce together.

Recipe for Pumpkin Soup With  Basil:
Ingredients
500 gm Pumpkin
250 gm ripe Tomatoes
250 gm Carrots
black Pepper
6 cups Chicken Stock
3 tblspns non fat Yoghurt
1 Onion
2 tblspns chopped Basil

Method
Peel pumpkin and cut into cubes. Cut carrots  into slices.
Put pumpkin and carrots in saucepan with stock and bring to boil Simmer covered for 20 minutes or until soft.
Peel onion and chop finely. Skin and seed tomatoes, chop and add to onion. Add 2 tblspns of stock from carrots and pumpkin and bring to boil. Turn heat down and cook gently for approx.
5 minutes until tomato is quite mushy.
Put carrots, pumpkin and stock through blender. Return this to clean pan and stir through tomato and onion and juices. Add pepper to taste, yoghurt if desired and basil.
Stand covered for 5 minutes before serving.

Last Monday we had our first international meal : aussie food. Guess what ? We had kangoroo meat and spaghettis, before that we had some soup. Then we had a banana cake. The meal was prepared by second year students in the meantime first year students set up the table. We started cooking at 5h.30 pm and finish our meal at 9.00 pm. Nous sommes la nouvelle promotion de Bac pro SMR 2009/20011. Nous sommes un groupe de 12 élèves (11 filles et 1 garçon). Nous avons entre 17 et 20 ans.

Nos centres d'intérêts sont principalement : les sorties entre amis, la musique, le sport, shopping; msn et facebook.

Cette année, nous avons pour projet de faire plein de choses en parlant anglais :

• repas à thèmes (USA, Australie, Inde,...)
• contacts avec d'autres lycéens
• participation au projet Euroscola

Et en 2ième année, nous espérons faire un voyage

Hello, let's go for a new year !

We are the new promotion of the Bac pro SMR 2009/2011.We are a group of 12 students (11 girls and 1 boy). We have between 17 and 20 years old. Our hobbies are : music, sports, shopping, messenger, facebook and going to party with friends. This year, we want to speak in english that's why we have many projects :

• cooking foreign meals (USA, Australia, India,...)
• have contacts with English speaking students
• taking part in the euroscola project.

During the second year, we wish to go on a trip.

cheer up , enjoy life.

L'année scolaire est finie, les terminales vont passer leur examen... les premières années sont en stage. Deux de notre groupe font leur stage en Angleterre. Estelle est dans le Nord, dans le parc national des lacs. Florence est dans le sud.

Rendez- vous en septembre pour un travail sur Euroscola et pour une section tournée sur la vidéo et la réalisation de court métrages.

School year has come to an end. Some of us are going to sit for their exam. First year student will soon be leaving for their training period. Two members of the section are doing their training period in England. Estelle is in the North, near the Lake District whereas Florence is in the Sussex.

See you in september, we will be working upon the Euroscola project and will shoot short movies in English.

Alors que les élèves de Terminale préparent leur CCF, les élèves de 1ère prépare déjà la saison prochaine de la section en effectuant un travail de recherche sur l'Europe d'il y a 20 ans. 20 ans cela nous vous dit rien ?

Réfléchissez, vous y êtes ? Mais oui c'est la chute du mur de Berlin... et le début d'une nouvelle ère pour l'Europe. Ce travail de recherche sera suivit d'une phase d'anticipation sur le thème "Et l'Europe dans 20 ans elle sera comment ?" Toutes les recherches seront mises en forme dans un dossier et envoyées au parlement européen dans l'espoir que la section soit retenue au programme Euroscola.

froid, très froid dans le bus : duvet, chausettes chaudes, couvertures, le chauffage était en panne... alors on se protège comme on peut...

Cold, too cold, freezing cold : warm socks, sleeping bags, blankets... no heat in the bus. So we protect ourselves the best we can !!!

Enfin on arrive à Calais, embarquement, traversée d'une heure trente, le temps pour certains d'entre nous d'être malades... Finally we arrived in calais, boarding time, 1h.1/2 of crossing, some of us got seasick...

Les élèves ont pu voir: Students had the opportunity to visit the following places :

- Londres, Brighton, Hastings, Bodiam Castle, Beachy Head

Les élèves participant à la section européenne au lycée agricole , ont organisé un voyage d'une semaine dans le Sud de l'Angleterre du 9 au 13 février 2009. Ils ont séjourné dans l'auberge de Jeunesse d'Alfriston.

Students involved in the Section européenne had the opportunity to organize a one week trip to England, in Sussex from February 9 to 13,2009. They stayed in Alfriston youth hostel.
